A very wet day although about 8 degrees warmer than yesterday. A nice get together with a mince pie with our tea to celebrate the last meeting this year. The Craft group were very active with their wreath making while the art group had no painting to photograph.

November
Fifteen of us today, the craft group were busy with needlework in producing Christmas decorations. Just the one picture as most were to be completed at home. Dave painted an impressive portrait of man from an early period. Mary produced a flower display painting. Sue finished a portrait of a dog.

Only thirteen of us today, nine art and five craft. The craft created a star Christmas decoration. Pat's picture was of a splendid tree while Dave's cavalier with the lace border on his tunic and steely eyes stood out. Ann said her country road scene was only an exercise in technique it looked good to me.

13 in all on a nice day to spend a while in artistic endeavour. The craft group made thingy-a-me-bobs to keep things in, I'm told such as love letters. They did look nice.
Mary continued with painting her loveable bears. None of the other paintings were ready to photo so as everybody insisted my drawing was good my poor attempt at copying John Singer Sergent's drawing of Elsie Swinton (Mrs. George Swinton) in 1897is displayed.

A nice relaxing but productive afternoon. Pat continued to work on the Eling scene shown last month. Sue completed a coloured pencil drawing of a teddy bear. Henry just finishing the Italian plaza look . Joan worked on daffodils. I drew a picture copied from a drawing taken from the Internet of a woman in black. Dave's snowy scene captured a forest walk of himself and a dog. Mary finished a rural Spring view. The craft group made some very decorative paper stars.

Very good almost photographic. Sue's bunch of flowers. Mary's brilliant painting of a panda while my offering was a poor drawing but I'm vain enough to include it here.

Rather cold day after a sprinkling of snow during the night and the heaters were losing the battle so coats were in order for the two hours. The craft stitched fancy buttons. The Dorset button has a long history, originating in the 18th century in Dorset, England. Originally, they were made on a disc cut from the horn of a Dorset Horn sheep, which was covered with needle-worked thread. Later, button makers began using metal rings as the basis for these buttons.
As for the art group Mary painted a bright African market scene and Henry experimented with acrylics

Sixteen of us altogether nine for art and seven for craft. Nice afternoon the craft group worked on greeting cards while we produced various drawing and paintings in different mediums. David painted the unusual picture of a face composed of birds while Henry worked on the Arc de Triomphe. My contribution was a copy of Angelina Jolie
