Next craft meeting is 8th April

We are having a sugarcraft demonstration. If you would like to" have a go " yourself, you will need to bring a small melamine chopping board and something such as a piece of dowling to use as a rolling pin. All other equipment will be provided.

Excellent painting by Mary of a rural street scene while the craft group excelled themselves by creating decorative minature shopping bags to contain gifts such as an Easter Egg. While another project completed from last month was the necklaces. Not forgetting what I am told is quilling an elaborate decoration made from strips of paper. I found this on the net:
Have you ever thought of a tiny strip of paper as being a medium for a work of art? If not, then you are probably not alone. Yet an ancient art form is just that. I am referring to the delicate art of paper quilling. It is not known with accuracy exactly where or when this art form got is start, but some feel that it can be traced back as far as the culture of Ancient Egypt. Some of their tombs were found to be decorated with thin metal filigree shapes that remind one of the shapes found in modern quilling.
