13 December 2013

Ann finished off the rural scene I sketched a rather sheepish looking tiger. The craft group excelled themselves with Christmas decorations from natures bounty. Even their "cake" looked good enough to eat. Dave painted an arched gateway which you can see in the video.

9th August

12 Of us today despite an increase of 50% in the fee now £1.50 which for 2 hours including free tea and biscuit is good value. The craft had nothing to show this month and just three from the art side of the room. Pat worked on her owls while Mary painted a small oldie water mill. I did a water colour but it was terrible so amused myself by sketching fellow artists not much like them though.

Down to eleven today. The craft group were very creative with their cards. Must remember next time to stand with back to the window to get the right light.
Pat painted a natural looking squirrel. Henry a little splash. I'm told that is an in joke. My attempt at copying an impressionist wasn't that successful.

14th June 2013

Nice afternoon after a cloudy start, 14 of us altogether David worked on his winter countryside scene with what looked like an icy stream but not so, it will when finished be running water. Ann tried a quick painting exercise from the art book and it looks a success. Mary's painting was of garden flowers. My effort apart from an  unsuccessful attempt in acrylic to paint an evening scene was a sketch of a young girl. The craft group turned out some fine decorated cards

10 May 2013

Only 13 of us today 9 on the art side and 4 craft. Very quiet for some reason was it the absence of Dave and Bridget?  Never brought in my camera as the battery was flat so only our photos today. A young Asian girl and a small child on the beach while Joan's two paintings from previous time are botanically inspired.

8th February

Combined sixteen members today on a really sunny one as well. The craft group did various artistic novelties and planned for the next 4 months. Mary almost finished the bear picture while Joan completed the display of flowers while I did a youthful Obama
